The Top Wedding Trends We’ll See in 2019

From vibrant violet tones to geometric decor, 2018 was full of Insta-worthy wedding trends we loved seeing at ceremonies and on our feeds. Each year gets bigger and better, however, and we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for the gorgeous couples and wedding vendors around the world. Here are seven of the top anticipated wedding trends we’ll see in this new year.

  1. Colorful Coral

Pantone announced its Color of the Year for 2019 and it’s as bright and joyful as we hoped. “Living Coral” is anticipated to be one of the most widely used colors in 2019 and we know weddings will be no exception. While this color may be too strong for some brides’ tastes, adding it as small details throughout your spring or summer wedding can add a cheery vibe without going overboard.

  1. Minimalism

This is a trend we don’t expect to go away any time soon. After the world fawned over Meghan’s classic wedding dress and simple updo, more and more brides are opting for simple, minimalistic details and decor for their big day.

  1. Mixed-Gender Bridal Parties

We’re seeing a noticeable shift away from the traditional girls-only bridal party and men-only groomsmen. More couples are opting to include both genders on both sides of their party, and we imagine this exciting and inclusive trend is here to stay.

  1. Gorgeous Greenery and Grasses

Greenery and florals have been at the top of brides’ must-have lists for several years, but as we head into 2019, we can expect to see more earthy elements to this decor. Instead of accents of delicate florals in arrangements, more couples are opting to include grasses and serious greenery, like branches and leaves, in their wedding decor.

  1. Halter-Necks

Again, we have Meghan Markle to thank for this lovely trend. After wowing the world with her elegant reception dress, bridal salons around the world have seen an increase in brides opting for dresses with halter-style necklines. Simple, sophisticated, and sexy, we hope this trend stays around for a while.

  1. Video Projections

We may be biased, but this is one of the trends we’re most excited for. Video projects, or video mapping, as some wedding professionals are calling it, is one way to add a personalized and unique touch to your wedding that very few of your guests have likely seen before. Projections can include shots from you and your fiance’s engagement video, clips from each family’s home videos, or even add fun music video-like touches to the dance floor. This is one trend we can’t wait to see take off in the next calendar year!

  1. Drones

2019 is the year things get bigger and better, and that’s certainly the case for wedding videos. While couples have embraced this growing service over the years, 2019 is the year we’ll see couples truly embrace drones as a unique aspect to their wedding film. We’ve seen how much more special incorporating drones can make a wedding video, and the video we filmed for Abigail and Christopher’s wedding in Tuscany is the perfect example. Especially with destination weddings, the surrounding landscapes are half of the appeal, and drone shots can perfectly showcase the beauty of whichever location you and your fiance have decided on.

Which of these trends is calling your name for your 2019 wedding? As we start taking bookings for the year, we’re hoping we will be able to see at least a few of these incorporated into the weddings we film. Looking for more wedding advice?
