Celebrating our Brides on this International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, we want to show our appreciation to all the wonderful brides we have been privileged to film through the years. While there are so many lovely women to highlight, we wanted to share the stories of some of our most memorable!

Catherine & Les

As a high-level executive at 20th Century Fox, Catherine dedicated her focus on her career until she met her now-husband, Les. While she was not initially sure she wanted to hire videographers to film her wedding, she met with our team and decided to share her special day with us. Catherine and Les married on July 15th at the beautiful Mission Inn in Riverside, CA. This wedding was one of our favorites because of the quiet, but passionate love Les and Catherine share. A simple wedding shared with close friends and family made this wedding intimate, cozy, and a joy to film!

Dottie & Jesse

These two high school sweethearts have a special place in our hearts. Kim, our Head of Marketing, met Dottie’s parents years ago as neighbors and were raising their kids at the time. Kim and Dottie’s mom, Kelly, became so close, they decided to sell their houses at the same time! While this was happening, Dottie met her future husband, Jesse, both only being 15 years old in high school. Together, they attended Point Loma University and after 5 years of dating, they were finally ready to tie the knot and got engaged during their senior year.

The love that they have for each other is so clear in the way that they look at each other, but also in the way they talk about the other. In the wedding video we created, we captured Dottie saying about Jesse: “I never dreamed of the perfect dress or the perfect wedding, but I dreamed of the perfect guy, and that’s who Jesse is.” We definitely shed a few tears during their intimate wedding hosted at Bommer Canyon in Irvine, CA. We were so honored to be a part of their special day. Dottie and Jesse’s wedding will always be one to remember!

Jericho & Allon

While we adore Dottie & Jesse, we also have a special place in our hearts for Dottie’s brother, Allon, and wife, Jericho! These two lovebirds met while attending Hope University in Fullerton and they’ve said that from the first time they met, it felt like they were both talking to an old friend.

Jericho and Allon’s incredible attitudes and patience were tested on their wedding day when the ceremony venue fell through at the last minute. Fortunately, they both work at First Christian Church in Huntington Beach, and were able to switch locations so they could still have their ceremony held at the church. It was wonderful to see the support their two families had for the couple. Allon’s dad could be heard on the wedding film saying “Allon’s the best guy I know.” It was an absolute joy to film two of their family’s weddings, so Dottie and Allon, if you have any other relatives getting married, let us know!

Maxine & Fisher

Maxine and Fisher’s love story might always be one of our favorites. While they are both from Southern California, they met while attending school at King’s College in New York City. Maxine was helping work Orientation and she offered to give Fisher’s family a private tour of campus. She was immediately attracted to Fisher and after seeing him again later in the dorms, she invited Fisher to be apart of her “study group”. The only catch was that there was no study group! As soon as Fisher agreed, Maxine called her friends and begged them to come join her new study group so she could get to know Fisher. They started dating and after a year together, Fisher finally told Maxine that he loved her.

Kim got to know Maxine through multiple mission trips to Namibia, so of course, we were beyond thrilled when she asked us to film their wedding. It was a mixture of Jewish and Arabic traditions and it was held on Fisher’s gorgeous family farm in Central CA. Maxine’s fun and bold attitude is definitely apparent in the final wedding video and we had such a blast getting to be apart of their special day.

Jessica & Matthew

If you think California wineries are romantic, you’ll love Jessica and Matthew’s love story. Since they are both from different parts of California, Jessica and Matthew didn’t meet until later in life. They met in Paso Robles, CA attending a winemaking function while both working for different local wineries. The couple decided to get married at Terra Mia, a nearby vineyard in Paso Robles. Fun fact: their wedding was the first wedding Terra Mia ever held, and now the venue is booked solid for two years!

Jessica’s family was a huge part of their wedding. During her maid-of-honor speech, Jessica’s sister jokingly turned to Matt and said, “If you hurt my sister, I’ll find you. Ask Jessica what happens to boys who make me mad,” and Jessica turned to the audience and quietly said, “They’re not here!” We have no doubt that Matt has been a supportive and wonderful husband, and we wish them years of happiness together. Thank you for letting us tag along on your big day!

Nancy & Gil

Nancy and Gil were a special couple for us as we got to experience each important moment of their marriage. Gil asked us to film the surprise proposal he had planned for Nancy, which involved renting out a rooftop terrace in Irvine,CA, dropping hundreds of rose petals along the floor, and lighting countless tea lights that let to his proposal spot! The musician Drew Bray was even there to perform a new song written specifically for Nancy as she walked out onto the terrace. This song became their engagement and wedding theme song, and it can be heard throughout their wedding film.

They had a beautiful ceremony and reception on top of a yacht sailing through Newport Beach Harbor. Nancy had every detail planned down to a T, and she was escorted down the aisle by her father who gave a moving speech at the ceremony in their native tongue of Arabic. It was incredible to experience every part of their love journey, from their proposal to their wedding ceremony to their reception, and we were honored to film the couple every step of the way.

While we wish we could highlight all of our wonderful brides this International Women’s Day, we loved getting to share some of their beautiful love stories with you. Give us a call if you’re interested in hearing more about the weddings we’ve filmed, or take a look at our Vimeo page to see the final products!

Why Every Family Needs A Legacy Video

The holidays are known as the time of year for gathering together and appreciating time as a family, but what if you could experience the joy of being together all year long? With a legacy video, you can watch some of your family’s most special moments throughout the entire year, all from the comfort of your home. If you’re still unsure if a legacy film is a valuable investment, continue reading to find out 5 reasons why a legacy video is the perfect investment for your family!

  • Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

With medical advancements and an overall longer life expectancy, it’s easy to feel like no matter what happens, we are promised a tomorrow. It can be all too easy to expect (and want) your family members to live long, healthy lives, but no matter the age, no one is guaranteed more time. Today is a great time to start planning to document and capture all of your family’s special moments, unique interactions, and heritage with a legacy video.

  • Don’t wait to appreciate family members until it’s too late.

Similarly, the amount of time you have left to spend with and learn from relatives is not guaranteed. It’s common to spend time thinking about the past and your family’s heritage after one has passed, but a legacy video encourages you to think about your family while all, or most, are still here. Your living family members have hours of stories to tell, most of which you’ve likely never heard. Having a legacy video filmed of your family sharing these special stories will allow you to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of where you and your family members come from.

  • Every family has a unique story.

While you’ve likely heard stories of how your family came to be, do you know the details? Do you know the story of how your grandparents almost didn’t meet, or of the sacrifices your great uncle made to ensure a better future for your family? One thing we love about legacy videos are those certain details of a family’s heritage revealed through the words of a relative. Once the realization hits that a thousand different situations had to happen to allow you, your siblings, and your children to be standing here today, the story of your entire family becomes infinitely more significant.

  • It lasts forever.

Want to be able to tell your future kids the heartwarming stories of their heritage? With a legacy video, your family members’ unique stories and personalities will be captured on film forever. You no longer have to worry about preserving every detail of your family’s heritage on your own; with a legacy video, your entire family will come together to explain how the lineage came to be. Even if your family is spread out all over the world, having a legacy video will allow you to press play any time you’re missing that important family time.

  • A video shows what a picture can not.

Want to remember the sound of your grandfather’s hearty laugh or the look in your grandmother’s eyes? The most important details of your family members can quickly get lost behind the lens of a camera. A video allows you to preserve the memories of your family member’s unique mannerisms, voices, expressions, and personalities forever. A legacy video also helps you to remember your family’s dynamics through watching relatives interact on the screen. While family portraits are a great tangible keepsake to have, a legacy video can show so much more of your family’s distinctive personality.

At the end of the day, the most important part of life is who you share your time with. With busy schedules and seemingly unending responsibilities, it’s easy to get distracted from spending time with those who matter most: your loved ones. As we head into 2018, consider showing your family members how much you care for them and respect your heritage with a legacy video. Ask us about our legacy video services today!
